Medical Equipment Network Expands
A Sudbury entrepreneur has joined a national network of home medical equipment dealers to leverage the group's buying power.
Norm Gervais, owner of Mobility2Home, is now aligned with the Ability Members Group, which counts 17 locations spanning British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and New Brunswick.
Mobility2Home services Sudbury as well as locations west to Blind River and Elliot Lake, including Manitoulin Island, east to North Bay and south to Parry Sound.
Stan Murray, president of the Ability Members Group, said in a release that leveraging the collective buying power of home medical equipment dealers will be a successful growth opportunity over the next three to five years.
To make the collective concept achievable, each member of the Ability Members Group is assessed a monthly fee based on their previous year’s annual sales.
“Out of the starting gate, we have attracted a core group of 12 quality home medical equipment professionals, with 17 store locations from British Columbia to New Brunswick,” Murray said in the release. “They are committed to the vision that our network of dealers will continue to grow as more HME store owners realize the value of our collective buying power ... (which) affords discounted prices and financial stability to members.”
The core group "is also adamant about keeping the national network as simple and transparent as possible," Murray added. "To ensure that happens, we have assembled an experienced board of directors, the majority of whom are HME dealers in our network.”
