TORONTO, Ontario December 14, 2020: 59 rehabilitation technology specialists from Ability Members Group have applied for registration with The National Registry of Rehabilitation Technology Suppliers (NRRTS) for its recently launched Canadian standard. The development of this new standard for industry partners was launched in partnership with the Canadian Assistive Devices Association (CADA) on November 17th, 2020. NRRTS provides a mechanism to identify qualified providers able to present high-quality complex rehabilitation technologies and related services to people who need them.
“NRRTS registrants are expected to promote the highest standard of ethical conduct,” says Weesie Walker, Executive Director NRRTS. “It is great to see the so many members from the Ability Members Group interested in securing this designation, that demonstrates owner commitments to enabling staff to provide the highest level of care.”
“When it comes to complex rehab technology and related services, being able to identify trained and qualified providers ensures that you’re dealing with the right people,” says Jamie Church, CEO of Ability Members Group. “That confidence is important whether you’re a consumer, caregiver, clinician or third-party payer.”
Successful applicants must meet various educational and professional criteria in order to qualify as a Registered Rehabilitation Supplier (RRTS). These professionals offer quality care and service using specialized knowledge, training, experience and skills to match the consumers’ needs to appropriate equipment. The NRRTS Board of Directors and staff welcome Canadian providers who see the need to "raise the bar".
