How Do You Use a Bath Lift?

Enjoying a relaxing bath is highly therapeutic and one of life’s little luxuries. If you find it difficult to get in and out of the bath, a bath chair lift system offers a safe, simple and affordable solution. At the touch of a button, a bath tub lift lowers you safely to the bottom of the bath for you to enjoy a safe, simple bath once more.

The process of using a bath chair lift is extremely simple. Note: a tub grab bar is not absolutely necessary but is a great tool to help make the process even safer for you.

Getting Into the Bath Using a Bath Chair Lift:

  • using the handset, raise the bath lift level with the top of the tub

  • stand with the back of your legs touching the edge of the tub

  • using the tub grab bar for support, sit on the bath lift with your feet flat on the floor

  • slide backwards slightly onto the bath tub lift

  • swivel around to face the front of the tub as you lift your legs, one at a time, into the tub

  • shuffle over to the middle of the bath tub lift

  • use the handset to lower yourself into the tub and enjoy your bath

Getting Out of the Bath Using a Bath Chair Lift:

  • use the handset to lift the seat up level with the top of the tub

  • shuffle over until you are at the edge of the bath

  • lift your legs over the edge of the bath one at a time

  • swivel around, ensuring your feet are firmly on the floor and then use the tub grab bar to help you stand
